Mr. Ashfaq inspired the students to undertake a
thorough research of any subject that is to be debated. He also addressed the
fact that we as human beings, at times lack motivation and tend to a state of
dormancy, which we must overcome time and again in order to achieve the
simplest of our objectives.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by an
elocution competition on the topic “India’s Missile Man- APJ Abdul Kalam".
The elocution competition was a humble effort to remember the contributions and
life of a true visionary, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Ms. Geneve D'souza secured the
first place, Ms Sahila Shaikh secured the second place, whereas the third place
was shared by Mr Shivanand Raikar and Mr Mohammed Hussain in this competition.
The Debate Club seeks to provide a
platform to discuss various contemporary issues in the society with a view
to promote and develop critical thinking and reasoning amongst our youth.
